Curriculum

Colburn CP School organises teaching and learning around the key skills outlined in the National Curriculum and the revised framework for EYFS. This is enriched through a number of thematic weeks planned across the year which promotes a cross-curricular approach to developing the key skills of reading, writing and mathematics.

The curriculum is enhanced by a number of first hand experiences and educational visits to ensure learning is exciting and meaningful.  Our whole school approach to phonics is delivered through the teaching of ‘Letters and Sounds’ which is started on entry to Foundation Stage and continued throughout school.  The school follows the Local Authority scheme of work for RE.
